Is the cottage smoke free?
Yes. Smoking is prohibited inside the cottage. If you smoke outside, please respect the property and dispose of butts in a bag and put them in the garbage bins by the driveway. Please do not throw butts in the garbage inside.
Is there a limit to the amount of guests allowed over night?
Yes. The cottage will sleep up to six people comfortably and we ask that the number of overnight guests does not exceed this at any time. Also, we like to remind our renters to please respect our neighbors when it comes to noise level and activity. We request no parties, reunions, or large gatherings. No tents or trailers may be used for extra sleeping arrangements.
Can I bring my pet?
No. Sorry! Although we love animals, we have chosen to keep the cottage pet free.
If you have dog allergies, please be aware that the family dogs do occasionally stay in the cottage during the summer months.
Should I bring my own linens?
Yes. Please bring bed sheets, pillows and blankets to fit full sized bed/couches. Kitchen and bath towels are also needed.
Is there a washer and dryer available?
No. You will need to use a local Laundromat if needed.
Do I need to bring dinnerware?
No. The kitchen is fully stocked with dinnerware, utensils, pots and pans, and glasses. Appliances include a coffee pot, toaster, stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, and toaster oven. Please do not use any stocked paper products within the cottage. These are for private use only. If you choose to bring your own, please take any extras home with you.
What else should I bring?
Please bring any toiletries you'll need, including toilet paper, paper towels, personal hygiene products and any other necessities for the seasons. Please do not use any of these items stocked within the cottage. These are for private use only.
Cleaning supplies are provided and include a small and large vacuum cleaner, Swiffer Wetjet, Swiffer Duster, broom and dust pan, cleaning sprays, Lysol sanitizer spray, sponges, garbage bags, etc. You will find these supplies in the kitchen under the sink and in the cabinet next to the refrigerator. Additional supplies and vacuum cleaners can be found in the closet off the bathroom. You are expected to clean the cottage thoroughly before departing so it is ready for the next people to enjoy. What do I do with bottles, cans, plastic, etc?
Please read the Rental Property Inspection Checklist for details. You will find separating bins within the cottage to help you sort accordingly for our garbage dump/recycling regulations. Please use garbage bags provided in these bins before putting anything in them to help keep them clean. Any filled bags will be taken care of after you leave and we appreciate you helping us recycle.
Is cable TV provided?
Yes. There is a TV in the living room and one in the bedroom. Basic cable is hooked up to both. A VCR and DVD player are also provided in the living room.
Is Internet provided?
Yes. Wireless internet is installed and available for use. The connection password is displayed in the entrance-way of the cottage. Please do not use this internet in any unlawful or inappropriate manner.
Is firewood provided?
No. Look out for some being sold on your way in! There are signs on the main road (Rt. 394) close by where people sell some. Please do not use the wood stocked on the property. This is for private use only.
How big is the boat slip available?
It will safely accommodate power/pontoon boats approx. 22' long with four poles and fixed lines to tie off to. Electricity is wired to the light pole on the dock with receptacles to plug in to if needed.
Is the location private?
The property is mostly fenced in, but close to the neighboring cottage on one side. It is a very nice, social environment. Our dock is home to several family owned boats and will be shared mainly on the weekends. However, we stay off the property unless passing through to get to the dock.
Are we allowed to put things on the grass?
In order to keep the property nice and the grass alive, we request no pools, tents, large pieces of furniture, etc. be left on the grass during your stay.
What do I need to do before I leave?
You are required to sign and complete the Rental Property Inspection Checklist (included) that details all exiting procedures prior to leaving the cottage. A copy is also provided in the entrance-way of the cottage in case you forget yours.
What do I do if there's an emergency or problem with the cottage?
Please bring a cell phone with you as no land line is provided. Dial 911 if it is an emergency. Otherwise, a phone book will be left in the cottage in case of problems during your stay. Call Roger (716-397-4487) if there’s an issue with the cottage.
Fisherman:
Please be careful when cleaning fish to keep the cottage clean and sanitized. Please keep supplies off furniture and carpet. ALL FISH GUTS should be carefully bagged and put in the bins by the driveway to avoid smelling up the garbage inside the cottage. Also, remember to follow the NYS fishing regulations to avoid any penalties!
